I'll just pick one relatively easy to give a shot...influenzae vaccine is recommended to be given every year due to the fast mutating influenzae strains which may render the vaccine ineffective. Therefore, new vaccines are produced every year to "cope" with the new strains. (I think they target the common antigens, if I did not remember wrongly)
k la...actually correct answer is 2 times yearly, one during around feb to march and another during july to sept...this is when new strains are analyzed after they undergo genetic drifts and shifts
hmm..interesting... cos usually they follow the annual flu shot recommendations. Most likely the the Feb-March is for Southern Hemisphere while July-Sept for Northern Hemisphere, as winter is usually the "influenzae season".
Just wondering which source did you had for the twice a year shots, could it be in the equatorial countries? :P
